Speakers:
- Prof. Dr. Maureen O'Connor (University College Cork, Ireland): Form and Anthropocenic Grief in Claire-Louise Bennett's Pond.
- Prof. Dr. Natanael C. Costa (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) & Prof. Dr. Fakher Assaad (Theoretical Physics I, JMU): Exploring fundamental properties of matter beyond material physics.
Prof. Dr. Maureen O'Connor is Senior Lecturer in English at University College Cork, Ireland. She is staying in Welz-Haus for six months as the Visiting Travelling Professor in Irish Studies, guest of Professors Ina Bergmann and Maria Eisenmann, co-founders of Irish Studies Wurzburg in the Faculty of the Humanities. The position is supported by the Irish Embassy in Berlin. She is currently researching a volume on the past and future of imagining nonhuman animals in Irish culture.
Prof. Dr. Natanael C. Costa is an assistant professor at the Institute of Physics of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). He is staying at the Welz house for three months, as a guest of Prof. Dr. Fakher Assaad from the Institute of Physics at JMU. He is currently conducting research on Condensed Matter Physics, specifically developing and applying cutting-edge numerical methodologies for Strongly Correlated Systems and, through them, exploring fundamental properties of quantum materials.
The presentation and the following discussion are open to the public and will be held in English. All interested parties are welcome!
